OBSCURE “The Real World” cast member of the the week

 Christina Trainor

This week’s featured cast member comes from back in 2003 real world Paris. Christina was chosen for two reasons, the first being that this was one of the last seasons that I actually remember watching the Real World and second after finding this weeks image I thought that Christina would be the perfect cover girl for “Vaguely Asian” magazine.

To be honest I can’t remember what if anything Christina brought to the table that season. However in researching I did enjoy reading about everyone’s favorite Georgia Southern and Kappa Alpha  representative “Ace” who was the most likable character cast member in show history or just seemed that way when shown on the same screen as CT aka “the man with few redeeming qualities” or “”the worst human ever”. 

So a big thank you goes out to Christina for being in the background and looking ethnic.

New Feature OBSCURE “MTV’S THE REAL WORLD” CAST MEMBER OF THE WEEK.

This week: Joe Patane

 A member of the Miami cast way back in 1996, Joe is most often remembered for two things; 1. That he went to Business school (a fact that was constantly mentioned given that this was the first season where the cast was tasked with starting a business…never happened) and 2. He was short, this fact alone was not all that unusual, what was unusual was Joe’s Freakishly tall girlfriend. Who was a good foot and a half taller than her better half or better third depending on how you look at it.

Joe was relegated to the shadows of the Miami cast both figuratively and literally.  But lets face it when you share a reality tv show with “Dan” the gayest guy in the world, you’re not gonna get the lion’s share of screen time.   

After his real world days Joe published Livin’ in Joe’s World: Unauthorized, Uncut, and Unreal: The Memoirs of Joe Patane from the Miami Cast of MTV’s The Real World. Then broke things off with his Amazonian 500 foot tall girlfriend.

Tomorrow I start work, directing GOD’S MAN IN TEXAS for the Springer Opera House. Had I an endless supply of money, this is what I would wear.

Denim shirt would be tied at the waist with the sleeves rolled up, slightly unbuttoned. Here we go!
